A few measurements can make choosing furniture easier. Use the steps below before placing your order.
1. Measure your room
Record the room's width and length, then mark doorways, windows, vents and outlets. Use painter's tape on the floor to outline the furniture footprint and check walking space.
2. Check the item dimensions
Compare the exact width, depth and height on the product page with your available space. Check seat height, tabletop height, drawer clearance and the size of any matching pieces. Product photographs can make an item appear larger or smaller than it is.
3. Plan the delivery route
Measure the narrowest doorway and hallway, stair turns, elevator openings and ceiling clearance. Consider the packaged dimensions as well as the assembled size. Check that there is enough room to turn and lift the piece safely.
4. Plan assembly and placement
Review the product's assembly information and care instructions. Follow the supplied instructions and use anti-tip hardware for applicable storage furniture.
